These compostable cardboard trays are made from plant-based raw materials from sustainable forestry (FSC certified).
A bio-based PLA coating makes the kraft salad bowls waterproof. PLA is an alternative to normal petroleum-based plastics and is made from natural starch from plants. You can find more information about the material of the coating here.
Moreover, the bowls are compostable in an industrial composting plant and can thus be returned to nature.
