Why is this item eco-friendly?
These compostable cardboard trays are made of vegetable raw materials from sustainable forestry (FSC certified).
A bio-based PLA coating makes the trays waterproof. PLA is an alternative to normal petroleum-based plastics and is made from natural starch from plants. You can find more information about the material of the coating here.
Moreover, the trays are compostable in an industrial composting plant and can thus be returned to nature.
