Sugarcane is the future. It is one of the most economically important plants in the world. It is grown in Brazil, China and India and more and more plantations in Africa and Thailand.Sugarcane is a strong plant, it can tolerate some droughtand violently resists diseases. After 18 months the cane is harvested for the first  time. The stem is cut just above the ground. The plant will continue to grow. Only after 10 years it needs to be replaced. This method of harvesting isenvironmentally friendly and sustainable.

The harvested sugar is processed in a sugar mill by squeezing out the juice. Then the sugar is crystallized, which leaves a thick syrup behind. This still contains a proportion of the sugar. The remaining stalk residues are called bagasse.Our products are manufactured from this sugar canebagasse. Up to 50 disposable plates can be produced from the residue of a single sugar-cane stalk.
